SHEARING DONE!

The sheep have been shorn and I'm working through classing and weighing each fleece. I've done all 5 white fleeces, including re-skirting, photographing and bagging. The blacks (14) have all been classed and weighed and I'm about to start on the 21 browns. Stay tuned!

SILKY WOOL BECOMING A RARE FIBRE!

I found out today that Silky Wool (aka 'Optim' or 'Arcana') top is no longer being produced in Australia and is probably not being produced anywhere else in the world either! Due to rising wool prices (which are great for wool-growers!), and a drop in demand for optim, this elite fibre is no longer viable in the marketplace and is rapidly becoming a rare fibre!

I have plenty of Silky Wool yarns in stock but top may soon be unobtainable! sob!

Up-date 30th Oct: I have been informed that there is at least one mill in the world still producing Optim wool so all is not lost!!
